Spring-Loaded Pressure Relief Valves

Farris spring-loaded pressure relief valves use a mechanical spring to hold the valve closed during normal operating conditions.

When system pressure reaches the valve’s set pressure, the valve opens to relieve excess pressure before automatically closing as conditions return to an acceptable operating range.

Spring-loaded designs are available for a broad range of industrial services, including applications involving high set pressures, elevated temperatures, and varied process media.

Pilot-Operated Pressure Relief Valves

Farris pilot-operated pressure relief valves use system pressure and a pilot control to manage the opening and closing of the main valve.

This design allows the valve to operate close to set pressure while maintaining a tight seal during normal conditions. Depending on the application, pilot-operated configurations can provide either snap-acting or modulating relief.

Pilot-operated designs can be particularly well suited to applications where back pressure, inlet pressure loss, reduced leakage, or operation close to set pressure must be considered.

FAST technicians receive specialized training on Farris pressure relief valves, repair procedures, and applicable codes and standards. Tundra’s FAST capabilities allow Farris valves to be assembled, set, tested, maintained, and repaired locally using OEM parts and approved procedures.
